Chim U. initially started tasking thanks to a friend’s recommendation. Feeling overworked and underappreciated, she sought meaningful work that would give her flexibility and financial freedom during the Covid-19 pandemic. Since joining TaskRabbit in 2020, she’s been able to take her work and career goals into her own hands.

Why did you become a Tasker?
I worked on other platforms but felt overworked and deeply unappreciated. My hope was that TaskRabbit would give me the ability to conquer my financial goals, and it did.
How did you find out about TaskRabbit? What interested you in TaskRabbit vs. another platform?
After hearing about my struggles with other platforms, a friend of mine suggested that I check out TaskRabbit. The way she spoke about it (Taskers can set their own rates, choose their hours, and build a Client base), I just had to try it for myself. My only regret is that I didn’t hear about TaskRabbit sooner.
Do you have other jobs or activities that you are involved in?
Outside of tasking, I love to cook as a hobby. I sometimes even make meals for my Clients because I love it that much (and I enjoy doing something nice for others).
How did you learn your skills?
I learned some basics on how to do cleaning tasks online, but most of what I know I learned through hard-earned experience over the past 6 years.
What were your biggest learnings as you got started on the app?
I learned that each Client has a different set of needs and preferences. I enjoy trying to understand what they want and then actually going out to satisfy them as best I can–making a Client happy is a huge source of pleasure for me.
Can you share how you’ve built your career/business on TaskRabbit?
I market myself by being upbeat and very diligently completing each task. I always bring my A-game with me. At the end of each task, I kindly ask my Clients if there is anything else I can help them with and ensure that they’re happy with the end result.
Can you describe ways in which TaskRabbit has impacted your life?
I didn’t think it was possible to earn as much as I do on TaskRabbit–but I owe it all to my sheer hard work. I set personal monthly targets for myself on how much I want to earn, and then I go after my goals with excitement and confidence. Each month I tell myself, I can do it and I will do it.
Do you have a memorable task experience or a project that you’re especially proud of?
I had a Client that was so happy with my work that she gave me a brand new couch that she couldn’t use, along with a Keurig coffee machine. I felt like I won the lottery that day!
Do you have a specialty that Clients hire you for?
When leaving feedback, Clients always remark on how communicative I am with them before, during, and after each task. I make it a point to be transparent with Clients every step of the way and it makes me feel good that they recognize that.
What makes you successful as a Tasker?
I’m always ready. If a task invitation comes in, I’m going to hit the road and get to tasking.
Do you have any suggestions for Clients who are looking to book a Tasker for the first time?
Provide as much detail as possible about your task as possible. It helps your Tasker understand how they can best do a great job for you. Also keep your app handy for when your Tasker replies in the chat thread!
What are your personal interests or hobbies outside of tasking?
I have 3 kids and love to travel with them. I also enjoy swimming, gardening, and baking.

Chim’s story reminds us that to be a successful Tasker is quite simple. Chim focuses on doing each Cleaning task cheerfully, diligently, and with her Clients’ satisfaction as her top priority. That’s been enough for her to complete hundreds of tasks, earn a near-perfect Tasker rating, and build a reputation for providing top-notch service.
Congrats and tha k u for sharing your experience
Great to see!
The app has allowed me the freedom as a Tasker/Artist to both make Art and provide a good income.
Great post! I just had that Million dollar feeling yesterday. The client re-booked me the same day bc she was so happy with my services.
Tasking has been one of my greatest honors. #happytasker❤️
Thanks for sharing
This sounds very similar to my story even though I’ve just started I’m already in Love with this app. I try to work as much as possible and never thought I would have as many clients as I do this fast and they are %99.99999 so appreciative it makes my day and just like Chim I always try to ask if I can do anything extra. Since starting I have reinventing nearly have of my earnings into new and better tools to give customers a better, faster, and more professional experience. Before taskrabbit I would have had to save for weeks just to purchase one of the many tools I was able to buy but now I get to buy the gear I wanted anyway and it’s an investment not a treat anymore. Just ordered a new bigger Chainsaw and Augur to start really stepping up my arborist skills I learned in New England working cleanup from the Tornadoes. Luckily trees aren’t nearly as tall here so it feels like a treat every job involving trees.
