What did you do for a living before becoming a Tasker?
The same as I do now! I’m a Certified Horticulturist.
What is the primary reason why you joined TaskRabbit?
I joined TaskRabbit for additional income.
What were your biggest learnings as you got started on the app?
Always discuss details with Clients before accepting the task.
How do you market yourself to Clients?
I provide business cards, and use social media to share task updates and adventures (@TheBostonTasker). I’m also launching a YouTube channel soon!
What is your best tasking memory, or the most meaningful connection you’ve made through tasking?
My best tasking memory was with a skincare company. For two days, I packed and unpacked new skincare products for social media influencers. Once I completed the task, I was sent home with a free bag full of skincare products!
What are some of your go-to tasking tips and tricks?
Always provide customer service with a smile. For Yard Work tasks, bring all equipment–even if you think you don’t need it.
How has TaskRabbit impacted your life?
I worked full time before COVID-19 hit. If I didn’t have TaskRabbit to fall back on, who knows where I would be? TaskRabbit is giving me the opportunity to become my own boss and I’m so grateful.
What’s your best advice for other Taskers? What do you want to know from other Taskers?
Keep your pricing reasonable (I’ve followed my own advice especially while tasking during COVID-19). Be patient. Be honest and trustworthy–communication is key. Volunteer once a month.
What makes a good Client?
A Client who is detailed in what they want, communicates well via Chat, and sends photos for extra context.
What are some seasonal/holiday/local traditions that you celebrate/enjoy?
I love the West Indian Caribbean Festivals in Boston/Cambridge and Worcester–lots of food, delicious drinks and dancing!

Great story Brandy. I am very successfully Tasking in Washington DC as a handyman/carpenter/electrical. I took special note of your experience as a certified organic horticulturist, bc my family has been considering organic farming in FL (land has been farmed for nearly 100 years). Would love to find out more about organic farming.
For every task bring all of the tools and supplies you can. If you have a car or a truck, keep as many supplies with you as you can. I’ve been able to get more hours, rehires and better ratings by being able to address plumbing and electrical issues when I was hired to do carpentry or wall mounting. For cleaning bring stainless steel polish, baking soda carpet deodorizer for pets and vinegar. Vinegar is a safe and completely edible cleaner and disinfectant. It’s perfect for inside of refrigerators, pets and children. It’s the most eco-friendly cleaner and the cheapest.
