#TaskerTuesday–Nanea T.

Lately, Honolulu Tasker Nanea T. has been specializing in Shopping and Delivery tasks, and her Skills & Experience pitch for Delivery is a great description of why she’s the right Tasker for the job: “Born and raised on the island of Oahu, I have over 25 years of experience navigating around the island. By mastering the arts of avoidance, whether it be roadwork, road closures, or the worst traffic in the nation, my courier skills are next level.” When Taskers like Nanea describe their unique skills and attributes in their Skills & Experience pitches while letting their personalities shine through, they stand out in search results.

Read on to hear how this water sports enthusiast got her first task invitation at the exact moment she needed it–and she hasn’t looked back.

What did you do for a living before becoming a Tasker?

I was doing catering and events.

What is the primary reason why you joined TaskRabbit?

I joined TaskRabbit to supplement my income.

What were your biggest learnings as you got started on the app?

I’ve come to realize how many other like-minded people there are around the world.

What is your best tasking memory, or the most meaningful connection you’ve made through tasking?

All connections I’ve made by tasking are meaningful, because TaskRabbit brings people together for the specific reason of helping each other.

What are some of your go-to tasking tips and tricks?

My smartphone is everything. I try to stay steps ahead of any task. I do price checks and item availability ahead of Shopping tasks. I map my route, avoid traffic, and anticipate other time management issues.

How has TaskRabbit impacted your life?

My first task happened to be the day after I lost my job. I was told the reason was because of my mom’s health issues, and my ex-boss didn’t think I would be capable of balancing her constant needs with my work. Basically, I woke up the next morning without a way to generate any income and burdened by the sadness, stress, and responsibility of helping my family during a time of incredible hardship. But then my first task invitation arrived, and it couldn’t have been better timing! Tasking really kept my mindset from taking a negative hold on me.

What’s your best advice for other Taskers?

Always communicate, be positive, understanding, patient, and give 110% no matter what.

What makes a good Client?

The same things that make a good Tasker make a good Client! Communication, positivity, patience, understanding, and following through on the guidelines for the task.

What are some seasonal/holiday/local traditions that you enjoy?

In Hawaii we don’t have seasons. We celebrate every day!

Nanea is, as she says on her profile, committed to “promoting an efficient and thorough process of task management…that exceeds expectations.” Her 20 years of experience in retail, hospitality, and clerical roles have instilled in Nanea a strong customer service orientation–and consistent 5 star reviews. We love her positive spirit and can-do attitude, and so do her Clients!
