#TaskerTuesday–Claire F.

Through just 2 categories, Mounting and Painting, Claire F. is able to hone her craft and delight her New York City clients with the transformations she creates. With specialties in unpasted wallpaper, prepasted wallpaper, peel and stick wallpaper, accent walls, and gallery walls, one Client put it best: “I wish I had more rooms and walls to hire Claire for!”

Welcome to the world of wallpaper–read on to learn more about Claire’s artistic work and the integrity with which she’s been tasking for 4+ years.

What did you do for a living before becoming a Tasker?

I was an art handler.

What is the primary reason why you joined TaskRabbit?

I wanted to work on a more flexible schedule.

What helped you accept and complete your first task?

Knowing I had the skills to complete it.

How do you market yourself to Clients?

I use Instagram to market myself: you can see my work @happywallsnyc.

What is your best tasking memory?

I have so many! I love a lot of the wallpapering jobs I do. Perhaps my favorite was the first bathroom I wallpapered floor to ceiling with a gorgeous print!

What’s your top ice-breaker question you ask Clients?

What’s your dog/child/parakeet/goldfish’s name? (I always make sure to pet all pets present at a task!)

What is the most meaningful connection you’ve made through tasking?

I’ve made meaningful connections with other Taskers! Referring tasks to Taskers I know on the platform who would be the perfect fit for a task that I may not be the best fit for—is the best marketing ever.

What’s your best advice for other Taskers?

Only take on tasks that you know for sure are in your skill set.

What’s your hidden talent?

I’m calm but also very funny.

What do you do to unwind?

I ride my bike through the park, chill with friends, and/or eat ice cream.

We are totally wow-ed by Claire’s Instagram gallery of her work, and encourage Taskers to follow Claire’s lead and use photos in a number of ways. For instance, ask a Client for photos to help scope a task; take before-and-after photos to document your work; take photos on a task to provide visuals to Clients if they’re not there to help with decision making; and add photos to the Business Photos section of your profile to showcase your work! 📸
