#TaskerTuesday–Jaime R.

San Antonio Tasker Jaime R.’s personality shines through on his Tasker profile and is the fuel that gets him through tasking across a wide variety of categories. His fun fact? He has six children—something he’s woven into many of his Quick Pitch descriptions and which we think sets him up to tackle whatever comes his way on a task. Check out his top Client ice breaker–maybe you can try it too!

What did you do for a living before becoming a Tasker?

I was a customer service representative.

What is the primary reason why you joined TaskRabbit?

To earn an income while not missing milestones in my children’s lives, which a typical 9-5 can often hinder.

How do you market yourself to Clients?

Mostly word of mouth. I protect my metrics like my first born. If I can do anything to make it a five star experience for my Client, then rest assured it will be done to create a lasting impression.

What is your best tasking memory?

I’ve met so many nice people. I was able to help a disabled woman do some difficult tasks that she was unable to herself. I got to hear her life story, her hardships and victories, and it was so refreshing when she told me it was the first deep conversation she’d had with someone in a long time.

What’s your top ice-breaker question you ask Clients? (if they’re present at the task)

“Have you seen any good movies as of late?” People are not shy about their entertainment preferences and if movies aren’t their thing, it’s easy to transition into books and music. I never lie to Clients. If I haven’t seen it or heard it or read it I tell them. No reason to start a new relationship on a lie. My warmth and openness enhances Clients’ comfort.

What’s your best advice for other Taskers?

Be yourself, because the Client hired YOU. Many folks won’t hire you for just a single task–they will look for you often in the app. Be positive and polite and the tasks are sure to roll in.

How has TaskRabbit impacted your life?

The financial aspect has been great and rising consistently. I believe it’s because of my consistently good reviews.

What do you do to unwind?

The video game “Call of Duty” is my sanctuary. I get home and relieve some stress by playing it with my kids.

Jaime says his hidden talent is that he could “sell ice to an eskimo”, as the saying goes. His charisma fuels his tasking success across Furniture Assembly, Help Moving, Mounting and other task categories that leverage hard and soft skills like creativity, detail-orientation, and customer service. Just getting started on the platform? We hope stories like Jaime’s remind you of how much you have to offer just by being you!
