#TaskerTuesday–Karsheem W.

Karsheem W. does all sorts of tasks in the NYC area and has earned stellar reviews for his skills, attitude, and customer service. His profile gives Clients a preview of his personality–take his Quick Pitch for Waiting in Line: “Just send me where I need to go and I’ll wait… and wait… and keep on waiting… I’m actually waiting for you to hire me…”

But we can’t wait for you to read about Karsheem’s experience on the app, because we think it is one of the most motivational, empowering, and inspiring stories that we’ve come across.

What did you do for a living before becoming a Tasker?

I was a pawnbroker for 14 terrible years.

What is the primary reason why you joined TaskRabbit?

I was miserable as a pawnbroker and was searching for another option. I searched for side work every day to help me through the struggle of a job that forgot about me.

How has TaskRabbit impacted your life?

I LOVE TASKRABBIT! It’s the best thing I’ve ever experienced or ever been a part of my entire life! I’ve dedicated myself to just tasking and it has changed my life far more than expected (TaskRabbit has curated my early retirement). I was able to get out of debt, tackle bills, provide for my family, and still have enough room to save for future goals. This has been one of the happiest times of my life!

How do you market yourself to Clients?

I let Clients do the marketing for me. Meaning that I do the best work that I can each and every task, and Clients will happily do the rest (by giving me positive reviews, hiring me again, telling their friends about me, etc.). I’m in it specifically to make Clients happy. Everything else is getting back what I put in.

What makes a good Client?

Repeat Clients with whom you can build bonds, who choose you to task for them all the time. Establishing yourself builds pride, security, and an incentive to continue building yourself up not only financially but confidently. I have grown so much as an individual and this could not have been facilitated without TaskRabbit. It’s like traveling every day–meeting new people, seeing new places, while enjoying and learning about new things. Doing what I like and what I’m good at every day.

What is the most meaningful connection you’ve made through tasking?

TaskRabbit Support are some of the most understanding people ever. I’ve never worked with Support staff anywhere else who can connect with you and help to find the solutions in any situation. There were a few difficult times but I never had a moment of stress because I knew Support would walk me through those situations to find a resolution. Knowing someone can understand that all I want to do is a good job is so comforting. I also have felt appreciated as a Tasker–I’ve felt like I count.

What’s your best advice for other Taskers?

Be patient. Clients are helping you as you are helping them. There is always a solution to every task.

What’s your hidden talent?

I have a voice made for narration.

What do you do to unwind?

Truthfully…. TaskRabbit! It is not only a form of work, but for me, a way of life! A task a day keeps the boredom away and that’s a FACT!

We couldn’t be more thrilled for Karsheem that he has found TaskRabbit and that Clients have found him. His experience is a testament to the immense potential the app can offer to turn one’s life into the one they want to live. Have you had a similar experience–from attaining financial security to feeling tangible happiness? Please share with the community!
