Brooklyn-based Chris C. describes TaskRabbit as his flashlight in a time of darkness 🔦. We were thrilled to learn that he’s been able to turn his finances around by tasking. 

What did you do for a living before becoming a Tasker?

I was unemployed prior to joining TaskRabbit but have 10+ years of customer service experience.

What is the primary reason why you joined TaskRabbit?

I joined TaskRabbit to have more control of my time and my finances. TaskRabbit was like a flashlight when I was in a dark phase of life. It helped me get back on top of my finances. It’s grown my entrepreneurial spirit. Most importantly, I get to be with my 2 year old son every single day which is a blessing.

What helped you accept and complete your first task?

My first task was to deliver donations to Goodwill (a local charity). It was a good introduction to the platform and made me feel great to be making a positive impact in someone’s day.

How do you market yourself to Clients?

I have an easygoing, can-do attitude, stay true to what I say, am always on time and I arrive fully equipped for any task.

What is the most meaningful connection you’ve made through tasking?

My recurring and returning Clients are my most meaningful because they represent that I’ve met or exceeded their expectations not only as Tasker, but as a person. I’ve gained their respect and trust, and I cherish that.

What’s your best advice for other Taskers?

Be true to yourself and be positive because we are in the business of helping people from all walks of life.

What’s your hidden talent?

I’m a pretty great cleaner, if I may say so myself. I’m also an expert at transporting mattresses–a handy skill on TaskRabbit!
