Oh, Canada. We’re so excited to be bringing TaskRabbit to you! Last Tuesday, we launched in Toronto, and we’re thrilled that it’s our first (but not last) stop in this country!
Toronto is Canada’s largest metro area and a major international hub for business, art, and culture. Located on beautiful Lake Ontario (one of North America’s five Great Lakes), it’s the capital city of the Ontario province.
Why We’re Excited About Our Toronto Launch
First, as always, we’re firmly dedicated to the idea of bringing flexible work to everyone who craves it, and this is another step toward that goal.
Second, we can’t wait to welcome Toronto’s new Taskers into our diverse and growing community. You are one of the faces behind our product, and without your ambition, work ethic, and drive for success, we wouldn’t be here.
Third, and speaking of growth, this city launch is kicking off a major expansion period for TaskRabbit. We can’t say much more than this just yet, but let’s leave it at this: Toronto is just the first stop on our path toward broader international growth!
Did You Know?
- Toronto is the fourth largest metro area in North America. Larger cities include Mexico City, New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago. It’s also North America’s third largest venue for movie production. There are over 25,000 jobs in there in that industry.
- Toronto has the largest underground pedestrian system in North America. It’s called PATH, and it connects 1200 stores and restaurants, 50 office towers, 20 parking garages, five subway stations and a railway terminal over its 28 kilometre length. Why does Toronto need this, you ask? Because the coldest temperature ever recorded there was -31.3C (-24.3F). Enough said.
- Can you say festivities? Caribana is the largest single-day parade in North America. The parade route is 3.6 kilometres long. It starts at 10:00 a.m. and finishes sometime around 8:00 p.m. It’s participants dress in costumes, and over a million people typically show up to watch them!
We hope you’ll join us in celebrating this fantastic city and our first stop in Canada!

If you’re a Tasker in Toronto, consider joining the IKEA Assembly program, which we foresee as being a huge driver for Client task invitations!
I am in London but the expansion of TasRabnit excites more as this is a great platform to helps those who need, when they need, and where they need. Aa a Tasket, I am happy to hear this news.
